I live in the foothills of the North Pennines, and I love researching and writing about the history of the north east of England. Following my MA in creative writing at Manchester Met, I'm now completing a PhD in English at the University of Aberdeen.
I've just finished writing the sequel to my first novel, Widdershins, and Sunwise is due for publication in April 2019.
Now that my tales of the 1650 Newcastle witch trials are complete, I'm working on a novel about the Shotley Bridge swordmakers (tentatively called Running Wolves). After that, I'll be resuming work on a novel about Grace Darling.
