I live in the foothills of the North Pennines, and I particularly enjoy researching and writing about the history of the north east of England. Following my MA in creative writing at Manchester Met, I am now completing a PhD in English at the University of Aberdeen.
Now that Widdershins is complete, I am working on the sequel (tentatively titled Deiseal, which means sunwise, the opposite of widdershins). For my PhD, I'm carrying out research for a novel about the Shotley Bridge swordmakers. After that, I'll be resuming work on a novel about Grace Darling.
