I live in the foothills of the North Pennines, and I particularly enjoy researching and writing about the history of the north east of England. Following my MA in creative writing at Manchester Met, I'm now completing a PhD in English at the University of Aberdeen.
I've just finished writing Sunwise, which is the sequel to my first novel, Widdershins (due for publication very soon - watch this space). Now that my tales of the 1650 Newcastle witch trials are complete, I am working on a novel about the Shotley Bridge swordmakers (tentatively called Running Wolves). After that, I'll be resuming work on a novel about Grace Darling.
