Downton Abbey’s Christine Mackie talking about her experience of narrating the Widdershins audiobook

Christine Mackie is well known for playing Daphne Bryant in Downton Abbey and also Doctor Gaddas in Coronation Street. As well as being a well-known TV and film actress, she also appears in radio plays and narrates audiobooks. I was extremely fortunate that Christine agreed to narrate my two novels based on the 1650 Newcastle witch trials (Widdershins and Sunwise). And of course, Christine has previous experience with witch trials as she played the part of Alice Nutter in Sabbat, a play about the Lancashire witch trials. Widdershins is already available on Audible, iTunes and Amazon, and its sequel, Sunwise, will be out very soon.

Christine Mackie has worked extensively on TV over the last thirty years in parts ranging from uptight housekeeper, deranged teacher, dizzy makeup girl and lots of lovely mums. Highlights include being Babs in French & Saunders, Mrs Harvey in The Grand, Fiona in Banana, Miss Hicks in My Phone Genie, Nicola in Wire in the Blood, Daphne Bryant in two series of Downton Abbey and being Dr Gaddas, Coronation Street’s GP since 2013.
